We never need your files

Every tool runs in your browser, so we never see the files you open, and we will never ask you to send one. If a problem only happens with a particular file, describe it instead: its type, its size, roughly how many pages or how large an image, and where it came from (for example “a scanned PDF from a phone app”). If you can make a small test file with nothing private in it that shows the same problem, that helps most. Most tools that open files also offer a sample file (“No file handy? Try with a sample”), and it is useful to know whether the sample works.

What to put in a bug report

• The tool's name or the address of its page.
• Your browser and its version, and your device and operating system.
• What you did, step by step, including the settings you chose.
• What you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
• Any error message, word for word.
• A screenshot, if it helps, with anything private hidden or cropped out.
