How to use Screenshot beautifier
- Choose a screenshot, drop it on the page, or paste it with Ctrl+V (⌘V on a Mac).
- Pick a background, a window frame and a shape, and set the padding, corner radius and shadow; the preview updates as you go.
- Choose 1× or 2×, then select Export PNG and download it, or select Copy image to paste it straight into a document or chat.
From raw capture to something worth posting
A bare screenshot dropped into a tweet, a launch post, a slide or a README looks unfinished: hard edges, no context and nothing to separate it from the page around it. This tool sets it on a background with space around it, rounds the corners, adds a soft shadow and, if you like, a window frame, so it reads as a deliberate image rather than a quick capture.
Paste a screenshot straight from the clipboard with Ctrl+V, or Cmd+V on a Mac, drop a file on the page, or choose one. The preview is the export drawn smaller, so what you see is what you get.
Backgrounds, frames and shapes
Choose one of eight curated gradients, any solid colour, or a transparent background that keeps the PNG's alpha channel for placing on a slide or web page. The macOS frame adds a title bar with the three window buttons; the browser frame adds an address field with text you type, such as your product's URL, shortened with an ellipsis if it's too long. Both come in light and dark, and None leaves just the screenshot with its corners and shadow.
Padding, corner radius and shadow strength are sliders. Pick a shape for where the image is going: Auto fits the canvas to the screenshot, 16:9 suits slides and video, 1:1 and 4:5 suit social feeds, and OG image makes a 1200×630 card for link previews. Shapes add background around the screenshot and never crop it.
Sharp exports
At 1× the screenshot keeps its own pixel size, and an OG card is exactly 1200×630. 2× doubles everything, which keeps the frame and text crisp on retina screens; an OG card made from a large screenshot gains real detail at 2×. Very large exports are reduced to stay within the canvas size every browser can draw, and the result says when that happened. Export PNG gives you a file to download, and Copy image puts the PNG on the clipboard to paste into a document or chat.
Private and free
Screenshots often show private messages, dashboards and customer data, so everything is drawn on a canvas in your browser and nothing is uploaded. The frame text uses your system font, so no font or other file is fetched from anywhere else. There's no account, watermark or export limit.
Questions
- Which shapes can I export?
- Auto fits the canvas to the screenshot and padding. 16:9 suits slides and videos, 1:1 and 4:5 suit social feeds, and OG image makes a 1200×630 card for link previews (2400×1260 at 2×). Shapes add background around the screenshot; they never crop it.
- Can I make the background transparent?
- Yes. Choose Transparent and the PNG keeps an alpha channel, so only the window, its rounded corners and its shadow are drawn. That's handy for placing the screenshot on a slide or web page with its own background.
- Is my screenshot uploaded?
- No. It's drawn on a canvas in your browser and the PNG is made there too. Screenshots often show private messages, dashboards and customer data, so nothing is sent to a server, and the frame text uses your system font rather than a downloaded one.
