How to use Case converter
- Type or paste your text.
- Pick the case you want.
- Copy the result.
Cases for writing
Sentence case capitalises the first letter of each sentence and lowers the rest, which is how most headlines on news sites and product interfaces are written. Title Case capitalises each word except short ones such as a, and, of, the and to, unless they start or end the line, following common style guides. UPPER CASE and lower case do what they say, with correct handling of letters such as ß and accented capitals.
Converting text written in capitals by mistake is the most common use: paste it, pick Sentence case and copy the result.
Cases for code
camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case and CONSTANT_CASE are naming styles for variables, functions, files and URLs. The converter first splits the input into words, understanding spaces, underscores, hyphens and the capital letters inside camelCase, including acronyms: parseHTTPResponse becomes parse, HTTP, Response. It then joins them in the style you pick, so user account id, userAccountId and user-account-id all convert into each other.
Privacy and limits
Conversion happens in your browser as you type, and nothing is saved or sent. There is no length limit beyond your browser's memory, and line breaks are kept. For Title Case and Sentence case, words in all capitals are lowered except at the start of a sentence; fix proper nouns and acronyms by hand afterwards.
Examples
THE QUICK BROWN FOX becomes The quick brown fox in sentence case and The Quick Brown Fox in title case. getUserProfileURL becomes get_user_profile_url in snake case, get-user-profile-url in kebab case and GET_USER_PROFILE_URL in constant case. A product name typed in lower case, such as weaveai tools for teams, becomes Weaveai Tools for Teams in title case; fix brand capitals like WeaveAI by hand.
Common uses
Fixing a heading typed with caps lock on, making a list of headings consistent, turning a column of database names into labels, or renaming variables when moving code between languages with different conventions.
