Reverse PDF page order

Runs on your device

Flip the page order of a PDF so the last page comes first, handy for scans fed backwards, instantly in your browser.

How to use Reverse PDF page order

  1. Choose the PDF.
  2. Check the page count shown.
  3. Select Reverse pages and download the result.

Last page first

Reversing a PDF puts its pages in the opposite order: the last page becomes the first and the first becomes the last. The most common reason is scanning. Many scanners and phones feed paper face up or in the order you stacked it, which produces a document that reads backwards. One click fixes the whole file instead of dragging pages around one by one.

It also helps when merging documents that were saved in reverse, when preparing pages for a printer that outputs face up, or when you want a log, statement or history to read newest first. Double-sided scans that came out as all fronts and then all backs can also be fixed by reversing the backs before merging.

Nothing else changes

Only the order changes. Every page keeps its size, orientation, text, images, links and annotations exactly as they were, and the text stays selectable and searchable. The new file is built from your original pages rather than redrawn, so quality is untouched and the size stays about the same.

More control

To put pages in a custom order, rotate some of them or delete a few, use Organize PDF, where you can see every page and drag it into place. To combine the reversed file with others, use Merge PDF. If a scan also came out sideways, Rotate PDF turns every page, or only the ones you pick, by a quarter turn.

Private by design

The reordering happens in your browser, using pdf-lib and pdf.js, open-source libraries that run on your device. Your PDF is never uploaded, so contracts, statements and personal documents stay on your computer. Nothing is stored after you close the tab, and there is no account, watermark or file limit.

It works offline once the page has loaded, in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhone. Because nothing is sent to a server, results appear as fast as your device can produce them, even for long documents.

Questions

Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The PDF is processed in your browser and never leaves your device.
When is this useful?
Most often for scans: a document fed into a scanner face up comes out last page first. Reversing restores the reading order in one step.
Can I reorder pages in another way?
Yes. Organize PDF lets you drag pages into any order, rotate them or remove some.
